Florencia Marina Daud is at it again…

Florencia Marina Daud
You’d think that someone who has scammed so many people and got caught doing it would, well, take a break from it. Some people just don’t give up. Florencia Marina Daud is one of those people.
Just who is Florencia Marina Daud? Well, no one really knows who she is. For some, she might have been a Spanish teacher named Veronica; for others, she might have been an Argentine Cuisine genius named Valeria; and others might have known her as their landlady Adela. Yes, Florencia is a name-changin’ jack of all trades… or just a jackass.
Florencia is better known to the rest of the internet as the perpetrator of numerous apartment scams in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her Mom (and a twin? More on that later…) is in on the fun too! No one knows what the Mom’s name is, but maybe one day we will figure it out.
Florencia and her Mom were outed on a message board for Buenos Aires expatriates about a month ago. Allegedly, both women have scammed at least two people out of their $200 deposits after they stayed at her studio apartment in Recoleta (1393 Larrea).
In one case, a user on BAExpats.org reported that he walked out of the apartment and got into a taxi with Florencia Marina Daud’s mother. Upon arriving to the intersection of Pueyrredon and Santa Fe, the mother told the user that she was going to go to her office and get the deposit. She must have been hit with temporary amnesia as soon as she got out of the taxi because she never came back. Buh-bye, deposit!
Another user on BAExpats reported that he was warned about Florencia by another resident in the building at 1393 Larrea. According to the building resident, a tourist had been robbed of his deposit when one of the women said that she had to return to her office to get the deposit. Like the user on BAExpats, the tourist never got the deposit back because Florencia/her Mom never returned to the building.
Furthermore, the building resident told the tenant that Florencia was thousands of pesos in debt to the building management for not paying building expenses; this was confirmed to the tenant when the monthly bill arrived in November of 2009.
It is unknown if she is still thousands of pesos in debt to the building management at Larrea 1393. However, another user on BAExpats was able to search the list of debtors provided by the Argentine Central Bank, and confirmed that she had taken nearly $10,000 ARS out in loans through two different banks. Perhaps these loans were used to pay off the debt to the management at Larrea 1393.
So, you get the picture: These women are hard-up for cash.
The enraged community of users dug up also all sorts of information on Florencia. They revealed the address of her apartment in Las Cañitas (Chenaut 1967 4A), the address of her “office” (Pueyrredon 2261), and the address of her hideous studio (Larrea 1393, PB #2). They discovered that she was operating a Spanish school at one time, as well as a cooking school. Now, she was operating a guest services company at BuenosAiresGuest.com (website now defunct) and a law firm called Daud & Associates via DaudLegal.com (also defunct). A Spanish school, a cooking school, a guest services company, and a law firm? That would be quite incredible… if she weren’t a scam artist.
